A Special Day for Karina and Dianda

By. Siti Hajar

Hei… how are you? Here’s something specials for you, Karina and Dianda Friendship story continued.

It was a bright Sunday morning, and Karina and Dianda were getting ready for an exciting day.

Karina’s mother, Amira, had invited Dianda to go shopping with them at Suzuya Mall. Dianda was thrilled, but also a little nervous. She rarely went shopping at big malls, and she knew her mother couldn’t afford to buy expensive things.

After finishing their morning exercise, Dianda quickly asked for permission from her mother. Her mother, who made and sold bread to support them, smiled gently. “Of course, you can go, sweetheart. Just be polite and don’t disturb Karina’s mother, okay?” she reminded her.

By 9 o’clock, they set off to the mall. The moment they entered, Dianda was amazed. The bright lights, the rows of beautiful clothes, and the scent of fresh bread from the bakery made everything feel magical. She followed Karina and Amira closely, not wanting to get lost.

After browsing for a while, Karina suddenly ran towards a corner of the store. “Mom, look at this one! It’s so pretty!” she said excitedly, pointing at a long pink dress with delicate lace on the front.

Amira smiled and took the dress off the rack. She looked at Karina, then at Dianda. “What do you think, girls? Do you like this dress?”

Karina nodded enthusiastically, but Dianda stayed quiet. She loved the dress—it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen—but she didn’t dare say anything. She knew her mother could never afford something like this.

Seeing Dianda’s hesitation, Amira gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “Sweetheart, would you like one too?” she asked warmly.

Dianda’s heart skipped a beat. “M-me?” she stammered, her eyes wide.

“Yes, dear. I want you and Karina to have matching dresses,” Amira said with a kind smile.

Dianda’s eyes filled with tears. She wanted to say yes, but she felt guilty. “But… it must be expensive…” she whispered.

Amira shook her head and knelt down beside her.

“Don’t worry about that, Dianda. You are like a daughter to me too. I want you to have something special.”

Dianda couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. No one had ever done something so kind for her before. She wiped her eyes and smiled. “Thank you… so much,” she said, her voice shaking with emotion.

Karina clapped her hands excitedly. “Yay! Now we’ll look like twins!”

Dianda hugged the dress tightly, feeling its soft fabric against her cheek. She had never felt this happy before. She couldn’t wait to go home and show her mother. For the first time in her life, she felt like a princess.

That day, Dianda didn’t just receive a dress—she received love, kindness, and a memory she would treasure forever. []
